Voters in Training - Pilot Project

The document is the official proposal presented by Charly Washipabano in Amos at the CNYC’s board of directors meeting, which was approved. Stemming from that meeting, it was agreed that this project be used with the upcoming CNYC elections, which are originally set for the 28th of May. As you will read through the proposal, this program follows all components of an actual election, which could spring more interest and hopefully generate a bigger voting turn-out for this election. Since the program is originally set up to follow an actual election, we figured that the best way to jump start this project (as a pilot project) would be with the CNYC elections of the coming year.

Youth Implication Contest

This contest constitutes the first edition of its kind, a contest organized by the “Regional Youth Forums Table of Quebec”. It will serve to promote the place and image of the Youth by recognizing their creativity, their audacity and their talent. This program will also look to encourage the Youth in being more involved with their surrounding, to pursue their initiatives and to support their desire to take on responsibilities and contribute to the development of their society.

Regional Youth Investment Funds
funds.gifThe Fond Régional D’Investissement Jeunesse (FRIJ) or in English as the Regional Youth Investment Fund (RYIF)) was created in 2002.  Under the responsibility of the nineteen (19) Youth Forums of Québec, this regional youth investment fund has been investing towards local and regional projects aimed at youth all over of Québec including organizations working WITH and FOR youth.

Outward Bound Leadership & Life Skills Partnership Program
outwardbound.jpgThis pilot-project is a partnership program between the Cree Nation Youth Council (CNYC) and OUTWARD BOUND CANADA. The project will be a 10-day Canoe Expedition that will merge Outward Bound’s Leadership and Life Skills development program.  The Canoe expedition is scheduled to take place from July 11 to 20, 2008 with departure from Outward Bound’s Base Camp in Burk’s Fall Ontario.
